Responsible in performing the CAE numerical calculation, provide technical supervision, assisting CAE Section Head in managing work schedule, participation in physical validation for CAE result correlation, proposing design countermeasure, generating basic scripts & macros for process efficiency, technical presentation at multi-platform meeting and assisting CAE Section Head in updating CAE technical roadmap for CAE organization and competencies growth.
CAE Numerical Analysis
- To prepare CAE mathematical modeling and boundary condition (pre-processing) in replicating actual engineering problem according to CAE work instruction.
- To perform multi-disciplinary CAE analysis for design validation and improvement throughout component, sub-system and complete vehicle level.
- To conduct engineering validation on CAE computational result (post-processing) and provide technical justification/evaluation.
- To conduct CAE optimization for weight, cost and performance balancing.
- To propose design improvement and countermeasure for the failure case.
- To plan and perform CAE correlation and model updating with the support from the testing department on physical instrumentation.
- To produce CAE technical report for each analysis for ISO documentation, NPDS fulfilment and communication materials.
Project Management & Cross-Functional Department Tasks
- To assist CAE Section Head in monitoring and executing CAE development schedule (project) in meeting project timeline.
- To present CAE analysis findings and countermeasure proposals in multi-platform technical meeting (e.g. SEG, VPIT and project meeting).
- To comprehensively involve in physical/field validation together with the testing department (both subjective and objective measurements).
CAE Quality Improvement Process & Human Capital Development
- To assist CAE Section Head in updating and executing CAE technical roadmap and competency development program as planned by Head of CAE.
- To apply and enhance the new analysis methodology (e.g. scripts, macros, programming, new boundary condition or analysis method) as developed by CAE Section Head or Head of CAE.
- To provide technical feedback on the proposed methods for further enhancement.
- To generate basic scripting and macros using suitable coding/programming language for CAE process efficiency.
- To comply with Quality Management System (ISO9001/TS16949) – CAE Standard of Procedure (SOP) and Work Instruction (WI).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
- 4–6 years of relevant working experience.
- Familiar with CAE/FEA analysis tools such as LS-DYNA, Radioss, HyperWorks, Oasys, STAR-CCM+, ANSYS and MSC software.
- Familiar with problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, TRIZ or equivalent methods.
- Moderate programming knowledge in Python, Fortran, C, Perl, TCL/Tk or similar languages.
- Good technical presentation and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of vehicle structure, functions and materials.
- Good knowledge of vehicle testing, regulations and homologation requirements.
- Good technical document writing and preparation skills.
