Our client is a global leader in the animal nutrition and feed additives industry, seeking a Head of Technical Services to lead their regional technical function across Asia Pacific. This is a senior regional leadership role with responsibility for technical strategy, team leadership, and scientific credibility across the region.

Role Snapshot

This role leads the regional technical services function, driving technical capability, customer engagement, scientific validation, and innovation support across a major animal nutrition and feed additives business.

Core Responsibilities

Leadership of Regional Technical Services

• Lead and coordinate Technical Service Managers across the region
• Ensure aligned activities, effective communication, and regular engagement within the TSM community
• Conduct regular TSM meetings and reinforce clear technical service priorities

Technical Capability Development

• Assess technical competency of sales managers and country technical managers
• Develop and manage technical training programs for sales teams, new hires, and non customer facing staff
• Support advanced product technical training as part of the wider strategic people and organization initiatives

Regional Technical Support and Customer Engagement

• Strengthen technical support across key markets and customers
• Support commercial teams through customer visits, technical input, and technical problem solving
• Maintain an active list of Key Opinion Leaders and support engagement plans

Trials and Scientific Validation

• Oversee and conduct regional technical and field trials with scientific rigor
• Review trial protocols before execution and monitor trial milestones, outcomes, and next steps
• Translate trial outcomes into commercially useful insights where appropriate

Strategic and Commercial Support

• Contribute to execution of relevant strategic plan tactics
• Support growth oriented commercial programs
• Elevate technical credibility through industry presence, presentations, and expertise sharing

Technical Advisory Council and Innovation Support

• Identify and engage regional Key Opinion Leaders for technical advisory support
• Conduct voice of customer work with R&D to review the innovation pipeline
• Support pre launch brainstorming with Product Managers and Technical Services for new product launches

Qualifications

• Education: At least an MSc, or DVM, in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Science, Feed Science, or a related field. An advanced degree such as a PhD is preferred
• Experience: 10+ years in animal nutrition, technical services, technical sales, or feed additive industries, including regional leadership experience
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of animal nutrition, feed additives, technical trials, and customer technical support
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop regional technical teams and work cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, R&D, and Customer/Lab Services
• Commercial Acumen: Ability to translate science into customer value propositions and support business growth initiatives
• Communication: Excellent presentation, training, technical writing, and customer engagement skills
• Travel: Willingness to travel extensively across Asia Pacific to support customers, trials, training, and strategic projects
