Responsibilities

The Role


Parkway Laboratory Services Ltd (PLS) has laboratories on the premises of Gleneagles Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, the four tertiary hospitals owned by IHH Singapore, and a reference laboratory located in Aljunied, which also houses our headquarters.

We serve the needs of a broad range of hospitals and primary care clinics, integrated healthcare facilities and we have over 40 years of expertise in laboratory medicine.



Key accountabilities


As a Laboratory Information System Officer, you will

• Support the Laboratory Manager in overseeing laboratory technology systems and ensuring alignment with operational, clinical, and regulatory requirements.

• Lead the planning, coordination, testing, validation, and implementation of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) in collaboration with internal stakeholders, vendors, and IT partners.

• Serve as the system custodian for laboratory IT applications, providing governance, administration, and technical oversight to ensure system reliability and performance.

• Develop, review, and maintain policies, standard operating procedures, contingency workflows, and system downtime protocols to ensure operational continuity.

• Manage the investigation, escalation, and resolution of system-related issues, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions and process improvements.

• Monitor and ensure compliance of laboratory systems, medical devices, workflows, and processes with applicable regulatory, accreditation, cybersecurity, and data governance requirements.

• Act as the key liaison between laboratory operations, IT teams, cybersecurity functions, and external service providers on technology-related initiatives and operational matters.

• Drive continuous improvement and digitalization initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance laboratory workflows, system utilization, data integrity, and operational efficiency.



Qualifications & Experience


• Degree/Diploma in Biomedical Science, Medical Technology, Biotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems. related field.

• Clinical laboratory experience is highly valuable.

• SQL/database knowledge is particularly useful.

• Knowledge of healthcare systems and laboratory workflows is an advantage.
