KST Maritime is looking for motivated and hardworking individuals to join our tug operations team as
Local Tug Assistants
.
Prior tugboat or seagoing experience is
preferred but not essential
. Candidates without maritime experience who are keen to work at sea and build a career in the maritime industry are welcome to apply.
If you are willing to learn, enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable working aspart of a small onboard team, we would like to hear from you.
What You Will Do
As a Local Tug Assistant, you will work closely with the Tug Master and other crewmembers to support the safe and smooth operation of the tug.
Your duties will include:
Assist with mooring and unmooring operations during berthing and unberthing.
Handle ropes, lines and other deck equipment safely.
Maintain a proper lookout and report any hazards or unusual conditions.
Assist the Tug Master and crew during daily tug operations.
Assist with basic checks and upkeep of deck equipment.
Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the tug.
Participate in onboard safety drills and emergency response activities.
Follow Company safety procedures and instructions from the Tug Master.
Assist with other onboard duties as required.
Who We Are Looking For
GCE N Levels, Nitec/Higher Nitec qualifications
Prior tugboat or seagoing experience is preferred, but
not essential
.
Candidates with no maritime experience are welcome to apply.
Keen to work onboard a tug and build a career in the maritime industry.
Willing to learn and undergo the necessary training.
Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work.
Safety-conscious, responsible and reliable.
Able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
Willing to work on a rotational shift arrangement.
