We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Accountant, based in our client's office at Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur. Reporting to the Team Lead, this contract position offers exciting coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our accounting services and its’ growth.


The Accountant / Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax compliance, and timely financial close processes in accordance with company policies, group guidelines, and local regulatory requirements. The role supports business stakeholders by providing reliable financial information while upholding the highest standards of integrity, governance, and HSEQ practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports in compliance with statutory, tax, and company requirements.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, local regulations, and internal finance policies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors on financial reporting and control matters.
  • Liaise with tax authorities, consultants, and internal tax teams to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to internal stakeholders as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of safety, ethics, integrity, and compliance across all finance activities.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is an advantage.
  • Experience with SAP and SAP HANA is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations is an advantage.
  • Relevant accounting experience, preferably within the oil and gas, engineering, or related industries.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.


Preferred Experience

  • Experience handling full set of accounts and statutory reporting.
  • Exposure to direct and indirect tax compliance.
  • Prior experience in a multinational or oil and gas environment.
