Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the overall procurement and purchasing function.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Manage strategic sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation and contract management.
- Identify cost-saving and value-creation opportunities without compromising quality and delivery.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and strategic partners.
- Evaluate supplier performance, pricing, quality, lead time and delivery reliability.
- Develop and implement effective procurement policies, procedures and controls.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing and supply chain risks.
- Work closely with Engineering, Project, Sales, Operations, Finance and other departments to ensure procurement requirements are met.
- Drive supplier consolidation, alternative sourcing and localisation initiatives where appropriate.
- Manage procurement budgets and monitor purchasing performance against targets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, approval procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Lead, coach and develop the procurement team to achieve operational excellence.
- Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks, including supply disruptions and price volatility.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant procurement/sourcing experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior leadership position.
- Strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation and cost optimisation.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, energy, power, electrical or industrial sectors will be highly advantageous.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills with the ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Good understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management and supplier risk management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Proactive, results-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
