Technical Engineer — Job Scope
1. Installation & Commissioning
- Carry out installation, testing and commissioning of water treatment/equipment systems at customer and dealer sites.
- Ensure installation is completed according to company standards and technical requirements.
- Inspect site conditions and identify installation requirements before work begins.
- Conduct testing and ensure equipment operates properly after installation.
2. Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems involving equipment, piping, pumps, electrical components and related systems.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Attend customer/dealer sites to investigate technical issues and breakdowns.
- Recommend suitable corrective actions and replacement parts where required.
3. Technical Support
- Provide technical support to customers, dealers, technicians and internal teams.
- Explain equipment operation, maintenance procedures and technical requirements.
- Work closely with the Service Coordinator to arrange and complete service jobs.
- Liaise with suppliers when technical clarification or support is required.
4. Technical Documentation
- Prepare service reports, installation reports, inspection reports and troubleshooting reports.
- Maintain proper records of completed installations, servicing and technical issues.
- Record equipment specifications, measurements, parts used and work performed.
5. Drawing & Technical Work
- Prepare and amend basic technical drawings, layouts and piping diagrams.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals and specifications.
- Assist in preparing technical proposals, quotations and equipment specifications where required.
6. Project & Site Coordination
- Coordinate technical activities with customers, dealers, contractors and technicians.
- Monitor installation progress and ensure work is completed according to schedule.
- Identify technical or site issues that may affect project completion and report them to management.
7. Quality & Safety
- Ensure installation and service work complies with company procedures and safety requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and identify potential technical/safety issues.
- Ensure proper tools, equipment and PPE are used during site work.
8. General
- Support the Sales, Service and Operations teams on technical matters.
- Provide technical input for new projects and equipment.
- Perform other technical duties assigned by management.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in technical, engineering, installation, maintenance or water treatment work.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge and willingness to learn may be considered.
- Able to read and understand technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Basic knowledge of piping, pumps, valves, electrical components and water treatment systems is an advantage.
- Basic AutoCAD knowledge is preferred.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word.
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Possess a valid driving licence and willing to travel to customer/dealer sites.
- Willing to perform hands-on technical and site work.
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,200.00 per month
