Role Description The Takaful Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Selangor, Malaysia. In this position, the consultant advises customers on family takaful solutions, explains product features and benefits, and helps individuals and families plan for financial protection and long-term security. Daily responsibilities include meeting prospective and existing customers, performing needs analysis, preparing proposals, and following up to ensure ongoing satisfaction and retention. The role involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of PruBSN products, Shariah-compliant practices, and regulatory requirements, as well as documenting interactions and using company systems to manage customer information. The Takaful Consultant also collaborates with colleagues on campaigns, participates in training and development activities, and upholds PruBSN’s service and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills to engage diverse clients and build long-term trust.
• Sales, negotiation, and presentation abilities to identify customer needs, explain takaful solutions clearly, and close business ethically.
• Basic financial planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills to assess protection gaps and recommend suitable plans.
• Good communication skills in spoken and written languages commonly used in Selangor, with the ability to explain concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
• Understanding or willingness to learn Shariah principles, takaful concepts, and relevant Malaysian regulatory requirements.
• Comfort using digital tools, CRM or sales systems, and basic office software to manage customer data and reporting.
• Ability to work in a target-driven environment, manage time effectively, and operate with high integrity and professionalism.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field is an advantage; relevant industry certifications are beneficial.
• Prior experience in financial services, insurance/takaful, banking, or consultative sales is preferred but motivated entry-level candidates are also encouraged to apply.
