My client is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager, Application Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise applications that support academic and administrative operations. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions, while contributing to application enhancement, system integration, and digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development expertise and experience working in a higher education environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain enterprise applications and integration solutions.

• Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, system design, development, testing, deployment, and support.

• Develop and enhance applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, ReactJS, and NodeJS.

• Manage and optimize database solutions using Oracle RDBMS, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL.

• Implement and support identity and access management solutions, including Azure Active Directory, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

• Collaborate with business users, academic departments, and vendors to gather requirements and deliver effective technology solutions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve application and system issues, ensuring high availability and performance.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, and operational procedures.

• Provide technical guidance to junior team members and support project delivery activities.

• Ensure compliance with IT security, governance, and development best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 6-8 years of application development experience preferably in the Higher Education sector

• Strong hands-on experience with; Java and J2EE, Spring Framework and Spring Boot, ReactJS and NodeJS

• Experience with relational databases; Oracle DBMS, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL

• Experience with Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), Single Sign-On (SSO), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Fluent in English and Cantonese.
