About the role

This is an academic position in Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Analytics, or Cloud Computing. The role involves delivering high-quality teaching, conducting research, and contributing to the development of the Faculty/School.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, practical sessions and assessments

• Develop and enhance teaching materials, course content and assessments

• Supervise Final Year Projects, postgraduate students and research activities

• Conduct research and publish in reputable/indexed journals and conferences

• Participate in research grants, consultancy and industry-academic collaborations

• Contribute to curriculum development, programme review and MQA/accreditation requirements

• Engage with industry partners to enhance students' learning and employability

• Participate in academic committees, student activities and university events

• Contribute to the overall development of the Faculty/School and undertake other academic duties as assigned

About you

• PhD in Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing or a closely related discipline

• Relevant teaching experience in higher education is preferred

• Strong academic/research profile with publications is an advantage

• Experience in research grants, industry collaboration or professional engagement is an advantage

• Good communication, teaching and interpersonal skills

• Passionate about developing students and contributing to academic excellence

• Expertise in Cloud Computing & Cloud Architecture, AWS / Microsoft Azure / Google Cloud, Cloud Infrastructure & Virtualisation, DevOps & Containerisation, Distributed Systems, Cloud Security, Edge Computing / Internet of Things, or Cloud-based Application Development

• Expertise in Data Analytics & Data Science, Data Mining, Business Intelligence, Data Visualisation, Statistics / Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, Python / R / SQL, or AI and Analytics Applications
