Job Description

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance Team. This role plays a key part in supporting the Manager in overseeing accounting, audit, tax, and statutory reporting functions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for timely financial reporting and ensuring compliance with Group policies, Singapore Accounting standards, and statutory requirements. The role will also support the company's financial operations and drive improvements in finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, including variance analysis and commentary on financial performance against budget.

  • Assist in the preparation of business plans, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Lead monthly closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Review accounting schedules (AP, AR, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, balance sheet, and P&L accounts, etc.).

  • Support management with financial analysis and reporting.

  • Prepare and file quarterly GST returns accurately and on time.

  • Handle banking and treasury matters.

  • Participate in audits, stock takes, and tax return preparation.

  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.

  • Maintain proper documentation for audit trails and regulatory submissions.

  • Assist with ad hoc projects and new assignments as required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or an equivalent qualification.

  • At least 10 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with exposure to the construction industry.

  • Good knowledge of GST, corporate tax, accounting standards, and local compliance requirements.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with SAP or other ERP systems will be an added advantage.

  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
