The Role
As a Quality Line Leader, you will be responsible for leading quality inspection activities on the production floor, ensuring that products and processes meet the required quality standards. You will lead and support Quality Inspectors, monitor inspection activities, handle rejected lots, and ensure proper sorting, rework, and lot disposition in accordance with the Quality Plan and Inspection Plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine sampling inspection at Molding or finished products (where applicable) according to specified sampling plans and inspection criteria as stated in Inspection Plan or Quality plan.
- Conduct Part/Product Process Audit daily.
- Ensure all information is written correctly into the quality reports and records. (in MES etc)
- Perform monitoring on SPC chart (where applicable)
- Issue Lot Rescreen & CA when the lot is rejected
- Get supervisor/engineer acknowledgement when the lot is rejected
- Ensure lot is sorted and reworked before start inspection on resubmission lot.
- Ensure lot disposition status is correctly identified (stamped pass/fail/on hold etc).
- Maintain housekeeping 5S at workstation
- Assist senior/leader/Supervisor/technician in such duties assigned
- Use measurement equipment carefully and correctly
- Skill code O, T, U
- Able to support other sections when required (teamwork)
- Monitor sort and rework activities in the production floor.
- Responsible to train new inspector and refresher OJT of inspector
- Responsible for buying off new or replacement operators.
- Verify master samples used in the production floor
- Verify tester samples from manufacturing / testing engineer (where applicable)
- Passed position test level 1
- Lead group of inspectors for job arraangements
- Assist or back up for Quality Supervisor and inspectors
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Control / Quality Inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in leading or supervising Quality Inspectors.
- Knowledge of sampling inspection, Inspection Plans and Quality Plans.
- Basic knowledge of SPC and quality control methods.
- Experience in handling rejected lots, rescreening, sorting and rework activities.
- Ability to use measurement and inspection equipment correctly.
- Experience in training inspectors and conducting OJT.
- Good understanding of 5S and housekeeping practices.
- Good leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a production floor environment.
- Experience in Molding / plastic manufacturing is an advantage.
Qualifications
- SPM with at least 2 years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment; OR
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in Quality Control / Quality Inspection.
