Job Summary
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily site operations and ensuring that construction activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities to ensure timely and quality completion of project tasks
- Manage and monitor workers, subcontractors, and site activities to align with project schedules and standards
- Verify that all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to resolve issues and optimize workflow
- Monitor workers’ productivity, attendance, and performance to maintain workforce efficiency
- Oversee proper use, handling, and maintenance of construction materials, tools, and equipment to prevent delays and damage
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address safety, quality, or operational concerns promptly
- Enforce compliance with workplace safety and health regulations and company safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment
- Report site progress, delays, defects, and other critical issues to Project Manager / Site Manager for timely decision-making
- Assist in planning manpower, materials, equipment, and resources to support smooth site operations
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure assigned works are completed on schedule
- Monitor workmanship quality and ensure defects are rectified to meet project standards
- Attend site meetings to provide updates on work progress and site matters, facilitating effective communication
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, inspection logs, and other relevant documentation for project tracking
- Ensure good housekeeping and organized worksite to promote safety and operational efficiency
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support project success
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma, Certificate, or relevant qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering, Building, or a related field
- Minimum 1 year of relevant construction site experience
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of construction methods, site operations, and workplace safety requirements
- Skills in supervising workers and coordinating subcontractors effectively
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage pressure in a fast-paced construction environment
- Willingness to work on construction sites and beyond normal working hours when required
