We are looking for an IBM AIX Unix Administrator.

Work Arrangement:

EMEA Hours 08:00 – 17:00 (UTC +01:00) or Malaysian Timing (3:00PM - 12:00AM)

On-call and out of hours support when necessary

Key activities:

1. Operations & Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain IBM AIX operating systems
• Manage users, groups, and access rights
• Perform patching, upgrades, and firmware updates
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability
• Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and operational procedures

2. System Configuration & Performance

• Configure file systems, LVM, paging space, and storage (incl. SAN connectivity)
• Set up and manage networking (IP, routing, VLANs, DNS, NFS, etc.)
• Analyze and optimize system performance (CPU, memory, I/O, network)
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on AIX servers

3. Power Systems & Virtualization

• Administer IBM Power Systems and PowerVM (LPARs, VIO servers)
• Plan and implement server and LPAR capacity (CPU, memory, storage)
• Configure and maintain virtual I/O, virtual adapters, and device mappings
• Ensure high availability and redundancy in virtualized environments

4. Security & Compliance

• Manage access control, sudo, SSH, and auditing
• Implement security policies and compliance requirements
• support backup and recovery procedures, including disaster recovery tests

Essential Skills:

• Good IBM AIX knowledge. IBM Certified Administrator knowledge level expected.
• Good IBM Power HA cluster knowledge
• OS Basis Monitoring
• Programming of scripts and batch runs for the automation of the system sequence

Additional Skills:

• Good knowledge of LDAP, Kerberos
• Deploy all AIX application servers based on the defined processes
• Handle and eliminate the deficiencies identified from the health checks performed
• Middleware components (Tivoli, Backup, Nessus...)
• Security topics (SIEM, Security Patching, PAM)
• Experience accompanying server migration projects
