Responsibilities

A global food manufacturer is looking for a Food Safety Executive (Mandarin Speaker)

Your new company

My client is a rapidly growing organisation within the food and consumer products industry, known for its strong focus on quality, operational excellence, and continuous innovation. With an expanding footprint across multiple markets, they are looking for an experienced Food Safety Executive to join their company. In this role, you will be leading the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the company's food safety framework across its operations in Malaysia and Singapore. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will oversee compliance, risk management, supplier quality, audit readiness, and crisis response activities. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement and an excellent platform to drive best practices and influence business-wide quality standards.

Your new role

  • Monitor and interpret food safety regulations and compliance requirements across multiple markets, ensuring business practices remain aligned with evolving standards.
  • Review product formulations, ingredients, specifications, packaging and labelling content to support regulatory compliance and market readiness.
  • Conduct risk assessments on products and raw materials, recommending appropriate control measures and mitigation plans where required.
  • Support supplier and manufacturing site audits, track corrective actions, and drive continuous improvements in food safety practices.
  • Act as a key liaison for internal stakeholders, providing guidance on regulatory matters and coordinating with external specialists when necessary.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food regulatory affairs, compliance or quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian and Singaporean food regulations, together with GMP, HACCP, auditing and root-cause analysis principles.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage several priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional English and Mandarin communication skills to engage effectively with regional and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, along with flexibility to travel for audits when required
