Vice President, Customer Management & Analytics Platform, Developer Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on technology leader to lead engineering, architecture and delivery for Customer Management & Analytics (CMA) platform within Institutional Banking Group Technology (IBGT).

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Engineering & Technology Leadership

• Lead the architecture, design, development and delivery of strategic CMA platforms supporting customer acquisition, account onboarding, relationship management, workflow automation, servicing and operational processes.
• Define platform technology strategy and engineering roadmaps aligned to IBGT and business objectives.
• Drive platform modernisation initiatives leveraging cloud-native technologies, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures and enterprise integration patterns.
• Deep dive into solution architecture, application design and code reviews to ensure scalability, resilience, security, maintainability and performance.
• Lead complex technical decision-making and provide guidance on architecture evolution, technical debt management and platform investment priorities.
• Ensure solutions comply with technology risk, cyber security, regulatory and data governance requirements.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions while continuously improving platform reliability.

AI, Agentic AI & Innovation

• Lead the design and implementation of GenAI and Agentic AI solutions to improve customer experience, productivity, platform intelligence and operational efficiency.
• Drive adoption of enterprise AI capabilities including LLM platforms, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, knowledge management platforms and intelligent workflow orchestration.
• Partner with business and operations teams to identify high-value AI use cases and accelerate industrialisation of successful experiments.
• Build sustainable AI engineering practices including observability, governance, model lifecycle management and responsible AI controls.
Evaluate emerging technologies and translate innovation opportunities into scalable business solutions.

People Leadership

• Build a strong engineering culture centred on accountability, innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.
• Attract, recruit and retain high-performing technology professionals.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Experience & Leadership competencies

• Minimum 10 years of technology experience with substantial hands-on software engineering and application development experience.
• Proven track record leading software development teams and engineering organisations in banking or financial services.
• Extensive experience as both a software developer and developer lead across enterprise-scale systems.
• Experience delivering large-scale mission-critical platforms supporting customer-facing or operational banking functions.
• Proven success working within complex global organisations with matrix reporting structures. Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and organisational complexity.
• Possess a track record of managing and developing engineering leaders and technical professionals. Strong coaching, mentoring and succession planning capabilities.
• Experience balancing innovation, R&D work and production delivery commitments simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of banking technology controls, risk management, cybersecurity and regulatory expectations.
Strong ownership mindset with a "can-do" attitude and passion for continuous improvement.

• Strong experience in enterprise application architecture and solution design.
• Deep hands-on development experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices and API development.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architectures, Kafka, messaging platforms and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience working with cloud-native platforms, containers, OpenShift, Tanzu or equivalent cloud technologies.
• Strong knowledge of databases, data architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, test automation and modern software engineering practices.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML deployment architecture and enterprise AI platforms.
• Ability to review solution design, architecture and source code at a detailed technical level.
Experience designing resilient, scalable and cost-effective enterprise solutions.

Education

Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
