Job Summary

Prepare ingredients and support kitchen operations by washing, peeling, chopping, organizing, and storing food items safely. Maintain cleanliness and assist chefs with basic cooking tasks to ensure smooth food service.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, chop, slice, and measure ingredients accurately according to recipes and daily prep lists
• Organize and stock ingredients at workstations before service to ensure readiness
• Label, date, and store food items following food safety and rotation rules such as FIFO or FEFO
• Wash utensils, sanitize surfaces, and maintain clean work areas during and after shifts
• Assist line cooks and head chefs with basic cooking tasks like reducing sauces and parboiling ingredients
• Apply safe and efficient knife skills to prepare ingredients quickly and safely
• Follow hygiene and sanitation guidelines to maintain food safety standards
• Manage time effectively to complete tasks promptly in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Maintain physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift heavy items as required
