Gateway Search Hiring! Full Time Server Engineer in Selangor - Ricebowl

Our client is a fast-growing, global lithium-ion battery manufacturer expanding its production facility in Serendah, Selangor. They are looking for a Server Engineer to own the full lifecycle operation of their enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization, cloud platforms, monitoring, and disaster recovery.

This role combines daily maintenance, fault troubleshooting, performance optimization, and project implementation across storage, operating systems, virtualization, containerization, databases, and cybersecurity, and is best suited to an experienced infrastructure engineer with well-rounded technical capabilities and standardized project process experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage server and storage infrastructure, working across NetApp, PureStorage, Dell EMC, Huawei, and Cisco storage systems.
• Maintain virtualization platforms including VMware, Citrix, OpenStack, and KVM.
• Administer Linux (CentOS/SUSE/RHEL) and Windows Server environments.
• Apply DevOps / AIOps practices, with hands-on Shell and Python and BAT scripting.
• Support public and private cloud environments, including cloud project delivery.
• Work with APM & BCM tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace) to troubleshoot applications and optimize performance; monitor systems using the Zabbix, Grafana, and Prometheus stack.
• Design and maintain HA and Cluster solutions for Linux and Windows servers.
• Apply working knowledge of routing & switching and information security.
• Design and operate backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Support database operations across Oracle, MySQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, and HANA.
• Deploy and maintain container and microservice workloads on Docker / Kubernetes.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related field.
• Practical experience in Linux & Windows server administration, virtualization, storage, monitoring, and backup & DR.
• Certifications such as ITIL, RHCE, MCIT, VCP, OCP, CCNA, or CCNP are preferred.
• Familiar with project management and IT process management; skilled in design tools such as Axure.
• Strong hands-on experience in software and system setup.
