Job Description

Responsibilities

An established and growing regional workplace Design & Build organisation is looking for an experienced Interior 3D Drafter to strengthen its Singapore-based design and delivery team.

This is a key technical position for someone who understands not only how great workplaces are designed, but how they are actually built.

Working alongside designers, project managers, consultants, contractors and specialist partners, you will take design concepts and translate them into accurate, coordinated and construction-ready documentation. You will be involved across the project lifecycle—from early space planning and design development through tender, construction and completion.

As the organisation continues to grow, you will also have the opportunity to help establish scalable documentation standards, workflows and technical best practices, while potentially building and managing a small team of documentation specialists as business requirements develop.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Design & Documentation

  • Develop comprehensive technical drawing packages including plans, sections, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, details and schedules.
  • Rapidly translate conceptual and hand-sketched space plans into accurate, practical and well-presented test-fit layouts.
  • Take design intent and develop it into technically resolved, coordinated and buildable solutions.
  • Produce documentation across design development, tender and construction stages.
  • Apply a strong understanding of interior construction, detailing, materials and finishes to ensure design solutions can be successfully delivered on site.

Project Coordination & Delivery

  • Partner closely with designers and project teams to develop design information while protecting the original design intent.
  • Coordinate directly with contractors, consultants, vendors and suppliers to resolve technical requirements.
  • Review specifications, details and shop drawings and incorporate relevant information into coordinated drawing packages.
  • Coordinate across design disciplines and proactively identify potential technical, detailing or buildability issues before they affect project delivery.
  • Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings and construction-related discussions throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical Standards & Team Development

  • Beyond individual project delivery, you will contribute to raising the technical capabilities of the wider business.
  • You will help establish and maintain scalable documentation standards, drawing conventions, templates and workflows, ensuring greater consistency and efficiency across projects. You will conduct quality reviews, share technical knowledge across the team and, as requirements grow, help identify resources and develop a small team of documentation specialists.

Key Requirements:

  • You are likely to be an experienced technical designer who has spent significant time within commercial interiors, workplace Design & Build, interior fit-out or architectural environments and understands the realities of taking a design from concept to construction.
  • Diploma, degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, Architectural Technology, Building Design or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in technical design, interior documentation or a related position, preferably involving commercial workplace or interior fit-out projects.
  • Strong knowledge of interior construction, detailing, materials, finishes and buildability.
  • Proven experience producing coordinated documentation across design development, tender and construction.
  • Strong test-fit and space-planning capability, including the ability to quickly turn hand sketches and conceptual layouts into practical floor plans.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or relevant design and documentation software.
  • Ability to work at pace without compromising technical accuracy or attention to detail.
  • Confidence communicating directly with contractors, consultants, vendors and product suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
