Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Senior HR Generalist / Executive will play a pivotal role in executing end-to-end HR functions across Southeast Asia. This role involves partnering with business leaders to align people strategies with organizational goals, ensuring legal compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and providing hands-on support across key HR areas such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning & development, HR operations, and employee engagement.


The ideal candidate will demonstrate a mix of strategic thinking and operational efficiency while ensuring excellent employee experience across countries in the SEA region.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and define job requirements.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and offer management.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of candidates for key roles in the region.
  • Partner with recruitment agencies and job platforms; ensure compliance with fair hiring practices.
  • Support employer branding initiatives and organize job fairs, internships, or campus recruitment as needed.


2. Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Maintain and update employee records in compliance with local labor regulations.
  • Draft employment contracts, letters of confirmation, transfers, promotions, and termination documents.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to reduce attrition.


3. Performance Management

  • Coordinate the annual performance review cycle and assist managers with performance discussions.
  • Monitor and track individual performance goals and development plans.
  • Support the implementation of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) where necessary.
  • Provide coaching to line managers on handling underperformance or feedback conversations.


4. Learning & Development

  • Assess training needs across departments and regions.
  • Organize and track training programs, workshops, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Work with external vendors or internal L&D teams to deliver effective learning solutions.


5. Compensation & Benefits

  • Collaborate with finance/payroll to ensure accurate monthly payroll execution.
  • Manage employee benefits programs including health insurance, leave entitlements, allowances, and regional compliance (e.g., CPF, EPF, SSO).
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and market compensation analysis.
  • Support annual salary review and bonus cycle.


6. HR Compliance & Employee Relations

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws across Southeast Asian countries (e.g., MOM Singapore, Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Malaysia).
  • Manage disciplinary actions, grievance handling, and investigations while ensuring fairness and due process.
  • Monitor and update HR policies and employee handbooks as per changes in legislation.
  • Serve as a liaison with labor departments or external auditors during inspections.


7. HR Analytics & Reporting

  • Generate and present HR metrics and dashboards (headcount, turnover, leave trends, DEI, etc.) to leadership.
  • Analyze trends and suggest proactive workforce strategies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in data handling.


8. Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Support local and regional employee engagement initiatives (e.g., surveys, recognition programs).
  • Foster a culture of inclusiveness, collaboration, and continuous feedback.
  • Plan and execute employee events, wellness activities, and CSR projects.


CANDIDATE PROFILE


Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 4–7 years of HR generalist experience in a multinational or regional company, with exposure to multiple SEA countries.
  • Strong understanding of regional labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting diverse teams across functions and geographies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in one or more Southeast Asian languages is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems (e.g., Oracle HCM, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced and culturally diverse environment.
