Job Summary
The Finance Manager will oversee financial planning, reporting, budgeting, cost accounting, and internal controls. The role focuses on manufacturing cost management, profitability analysis, financial planning, and providing insights to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.
- Analyze financial performance, profitability, costs, and margins, providing actionable insights to management.
- Manage product and standard costing, BOMs, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
- Monitor material, labor, and manufacturing overhead costs and drive cost optimization initiatives.
- Support pricing, new product costing, capital investment, and business case evaluations.
- Prepare financial models, forecasts, KPI dashboards, and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with MFRS, tax, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Strengthen internal controls, financial processes, and governance practices.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and follow up on audit findings.
- Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Lead, coach, and develop the local Costing & Budgeting team.
- Partner with Production, Operations, Procurement, Sales, and other functions to support business decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting, costing, and process efficiency.
- Comply with company EHS policies and participate in relevant EHS programs and training.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent is preferred.
- 8–10 years of finance and accounting experience, with 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong experience in manufacturing finance and cost accounting.
- Hands-on experience in standard costing, inventory accounting, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Good knowledge of MFRS, financial reporting, internal controls, and manufacturing accounting.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; BI reporting experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent speaking & writing in English and Mandarin.
