About the Group

Kannal Group of Companies is a diversified Malaysian business group with strategic interests across Maritime, Engineering & Corrosion Technology, TVET & Education, Digital SaaS, and Estate & Legacy Development. We are looking for a Business Analyst to support the Group in analyzing business opportunities, improving processes, translating business requirements into actionable solutions, and supporting strategic projects across our various business units. This is a high-visibility role that will work closely with management, business unit leaders, internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Analyse business processes, workflows, and operational challenges to identify areas for improvement.
2. Gather, analyse, and document business requirements from management and stakeholders.
3. Conduct data and business analysis to identify trends, gaps, opportunities, and risks.
4. Prepare business reports, dashboards, presentations, and management recommendations.
5. Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
6. Conduct market, competitor, customer, and commercial analysis to support business decisions.
7. Support the planning and execution of strategic and cross-functional projects.
8. Coordinate project tasks, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
9. Engage with clients, partners, government agencies, and internal teams to gather information and drive project outcomes.
10. Progressively take ownership of projects and business initiatives, developing towards a Senior Business Analyst and Project Manager role.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant working experience in Business Analysis, Business Development, Consulting, Project Coordination, Operations, or a related field.
• Degree in Business, Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, Management, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong experience in gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements.
• Good understanding of business process mapping, workflow design, and process optimisation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to prepare professional reports, presentations, business cases, and management papers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with data.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Adaptable and flexible in a diversified business environment.
• Able to manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously.
• Comfortable working independently as well as in cross-functional teams.
• Willing to travel extensively for business when required.
• Possess own transportation.

This position is intentionally structured as a succession and leadership development role.

The successful candidate will have a clear career pathway to become Senior Business Analyst to Project Manager. Progression will be based on performance, business understanding, analytical capability, stakeholder management, project ownership, and leadership potential.
