Job Description

Responsibilities

Company Description SRS Consortium Sdn. Bhd. (SRS LRT) is a key player in Malaysia’s infrastructure development sector, responsible for constructing the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system in Penang. The organization focuses on delivering sustainable and efficient rail infrastructure that enhances urban connectivity and supports long-term economic growth. As part of a high-impact, large-scale development initiative, SRS LRT is committed to world-class transit solutions that improve public transportation for future generations. Team members contribute to meaningful projects that shape the region’s mobility and urban development.

Your main mission is to ensure that all Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) works on the LRT stations, depot, and viaducts meet the strict quality standards, safety codes, and railway regulations required by the client (MRT Corp).

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Inspections: Conducting on-site checks (Request for Inspection - RFI) to approve M&E installations (wiring, piping, HVAC, fire systems) before they are covered up or turned on.
  • Material Approvals: Reviewing and approving M&E material submissions (Material Submission Form - MSF) to ensure contractors are using genuine, certified, and project-approved equipment.
  • Paperwork & Audits: Managing QAQC documentation, including Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), and Quality Records.
  • Fixing Mistakes: Issuing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) when work is sub-standard, and tracking them to make sure the contractor fixes the issue properly.
  • Testing Witness: Witnessing and signing off on factory tests (FAT) and site testing/commissioning (T&C) for critical M&E systems.

What We Are Looking For

  • Education: Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (registered with BEM).
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience as a QAQC Engineer handling M&E/MEP works. Experience in rail (LRT/MRT), infrastructure, or massive industrial projects is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Deep understanding of ITPs, QAQC workflows, material certification, and local standards (BOMBA, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, UBBL). Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards is a big plus.
  • Traits: Sharp eye for detail, firm but diplomatic when dealing with contractors, and highly organized with paperwork.
