Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate civil engineering and sewerage projects from planning through to completion, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Resolve technical and non-technical issues arising during project execution and coordinate with relevant parties to ensure timely resolution.
  • Track and monitor project activities, deliverables and milestones in accordance with contractual and project requirements.
  • Prepare, coordinate and monitor the submission and approval of technical drawings, method statements, proposals and other project-related documents.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Carry out short-term and medium-term planning to achieve project milestones and maintain the required site progress.
  • Coordinate, programme and monitor site activities, including manpower, materials, plant, machinery and equipment.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Drive project objectives in alignment with the company's operational, quality, safety and financial goals.
  • Monitor and control material usage to minimise wastage and maximise the efficient utilisation of machinery, equipment and resources.
  • Effectively manage the allocated direct workforce, including manpower deployment, productivity and overtime requirements.
  • Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved construction methods while maintaining cost effectiveness, productivity and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress against planned targets and take necessary corrective actions to ensure timely completion and achievement of project cash flow objectives.
  • Ensure proper site documentation, records and reporting are maintained throughout the project.
  • Support the implementation of safe work practices and ensure compliance with relevant Workplace Safety and Health requirements.

Technical Understanding

  • Interpret and understand engineering drawings, specifications, contract requirements and scope of works, particularly for civil and sewerage works.
  • Understand the technical implications of different construction methods and engineering solutions and recommend appropriate solutions to achieve project objectives.
  • Provide practical and cost-effective value engineering solutions based on engineering knowledge and site experience.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of engineering proposals, method statements, work procedures and technical submissions.
  • Possess a good understanding of civil engineering construction processes, including sewerage, drainage, excavation, pipe laying and related infrastructure works.
  • Ensure proposed construction methods are practical, safe, efficient and compliant with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with consultants, clients and relevant authorities on technical matters and project requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, recognised by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in civil engineering and/or sewerage projects.
  • Experience in PUB (WRN) projects will be highly advantageous.
  • Experience in managing and coordinating site teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of civil engineering construction methods, particularly sewerage and underground infrastructure works.
  • Strong project coordination, planning, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate site teams towards achieving project targets.
  • Highly committed, responsible and self-motivated, with a strong focus on project delivery, quality and safety.
  • Able to work independently as well as effectively within a project team.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with relevant Singapore standards, regulatory requirements and PUB requirements will be an advantage.
