At Developing Innovative Youth (DIY) , we inspire the next generation of innovators as the official partner and organizer of the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) in Singapore. We equip students aged 4 to 16 with essential STEAM, robotics, and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning and world-class robotics competitions.
We are seeking a dynamic, passionate Programme Manager to lead, scale, and deliver the annual FIRST LEGO League Singapore competition across all divisions (Discover, Explore, and Challenge).
Key Responsibilities
- Annual Event & Tournament Management: Plan, manage, and execute the annual national FIRST LEGO League competition in Singapore. Oversee venue sourcing, event logistics, judge recruitment, referee management, volunteer coordination, and schedule execution.
- Growth & Outreach: Actively drive growth in team participation across Singapore schools (MOE schools, international schools, private learning hubs, and community teams).
- Competition Information & Game Play Guidance: Serve as the subject matter expert on seasonal game rules, field setup, robot performance criteria, and innovation project guidelines. Ensure clear interpretation and dissemination of official FIRST guidelines to all participating teams and coaches.
- Stakeholder Communications: Lead all official communications, including coach briefings, team information kits, parent communications, rules updates, and post-event reporting.
- Supporting Programmes & Training: Develop and roll out preparatory bootcamps, teacher/coach training workshops, mentor sessions, and scrimmage events to empower teams and elevate their competition performance throughout the season.
- Partnerships & Sponsorships: Engage with educational bodies, corporate sponsors, and community partners to enhance the scope and impact of the national competition.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years in educational programme management, large-scale event management, youth STEAM initiatives, or robotics competition coordination.
- FLL & Robotics Knowledge: Direct experience with FIRST LEGO League, LEGO Education platforms (SPIKE Prime/Essential), or similar robotics competitions is strongly preferred.
- Communication & Public Speaking: Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to large audiences, leading coach workshops, and communicating with school administrators.
- Project & Event Logistics Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities, sharp attention to detail, and a proven track record of managing multi-stakeholder events under tight timelines.
