Kemuncak Lanai is looking for an experienced Process Designer – P&ID to support engineering design activities for an ongoing oil & gas / energy project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, development, checking and updating of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using AVEVA P&ID, ensuring that all deliverables comply with applicable engineering standards, project specifications and design requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update and maintain P&IDs using AVEVA P&ID in accordance with project design requirements and engineering standards.
• Prepare and revise P&IDs based on process engineering deliverables, design changes, engineering mark-ups and project requirements.
• Ensure P&IDs accurately reflect process equipment, piping, valves, instrumentation, control loops, line specifications and process flow information.
• Incorporate information from Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process Datasheets, Equipment Datasheets, Line Lists, Instrument Lists, Cause & Effect diagrams and other engineering documents.
• Develop and maintain P&ID data within the AVEVA P&ID database, ensuring consistency between graphical and database information.
• Perform design checks to ensure correct tagging, line numbering, valve identification, equipment references, instrument tags and connectivity.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Instrumentation, Mechanical and other engineering disciplines to resolve design interfaces and discrepancies.
• Review and incorporate engineering comments, redlines and design changes into P&ID deliverables.
• Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and ensure P&IDs are aligned with the overall plant design and 3D model requirements.
• Assist in maintaining P&ID registers, drawing status and document revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct drawing quality checks and ensure deliverables are produced in accordance with project procedures, drafting standards and applicable industry practices.
• Support model and design reviews, including identification and resolution of inconsistencies between P&IDs and other engineering deliverables.
• Ensure all P&ID deliverables are issued accurately and within the required project schedule.

Technical Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Process Designer, P&ID Designer or equivalent within the oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, energy or engineering consultancy environment.
• Strong practical proficiency in AVEVA P&ID is essential.
• Good understanding of P&ID drafting and engineering practices, including process equipment, piping systems, valves and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with PFDs, line lists, equipment lists, instrument indexes, process datasheets and related engineering documentation.
• Understanding of P&ID symbology, tagging philosophy, line numbering and process/instrumentation interfaces.
• Ability to interpret engineering mark-ups and translate process engineering information into accurate P&ID deliverables.
• Experience working within a multi-disciplinary engineering project environment.
• Good understanding of design interfaces between Process, Piping, Mechanical and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards and project-specific drafting practices.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify drawing inconsistencies and data discrepancies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Design, Drafting or a related discipline.
• Previous experience with EPC / EPIC engineering projects is highly advantageous.
• Experience working on offshore, FPSO, upstream, downstream, petrochemical or gas processing facilities will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with other AVEVA engineering applications or 3D design environments will be beneficial.
• Experience participating in P&ID reviews, model reviews and interdisciplinary design coordination is preferred.
