B.Grimm Hiring! Full Time Civil Engineer in Perlis - Ricebowl

JOB SUMMARY

The Civil Engineer will work in the Owner’s site supervision team, reporting directly to the Site Manager. He will be responsible for supervising all civil and structural related construction activities for fa large-scale CCGT power plant, ensuring the works are performed in accordance with approved engineering documents, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, HSE requirements, quality requirements, and the approved construction schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and verify the Contractor’s site documentation submittals, including Method Statements, Risk Assessment, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), HSE documents, Material Specifications, etc., in accordance with defined review process and time using an agreed project document management system.
• Perform regular site inspections and witness critical activities (e.g., concrete pours, soil testing, piling works, and structural steel erection) to verify compliance with inspection and test plans (ITPs).
• Prepare weekly project schedule information, for monitoring the contractors’ schedule performance, in a format approved by Project Management.
• Coordinate with the HSE team to ensure all civil construction activities are performed in accordance with site safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of civil site activities, including daily site reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), Field Change Notices (FCNs) and photographic documentation for progress tracking and quality assurance.
• Identify and document civil-related punch list items; verify the effective completion and remediation of these items by the contractor to facilitate final handover.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree (or alternative), or higher. Major in Civil Engineering or associated field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in large-scale industrial construction, with preferably at least 5 years of experience in supervising EPC Contractors and subcontractors specifically in CCGT, thermal power plant, or heavy infrastructure projects.
• Good knowledge of applicable international standards, construction practices, and relevant local codes.
• Familiar with QA/QC procedures, ITPs, NCRs, inspection processes, construction documentation and reporting associated with reinforced concrete, foundations, earthworks, structural steel, buildings, roads, drainage, and underground works.
• Good understanding of construction HSE requirements.
• Effective communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders in English.
• Microsoft Office / Microsoft Power Point / Auto CAD / Chat GPT / Gemini Etc.
