The Role

To help drive the continued success, HDR is seeking a Project Accountant in Singapore to work in close partnership with our Project Managers and the wider finance team. In this role you will play a key role in managing the financial and administrative aspects of projects from setup through to completion.

Responsibilities

In the role of Project Accountant, we’ll count on you to:

  • Manage project financials by following HDR’s project methodology and systems
  • Produce and coordinate project billing, including preparation of draft invoices and liaison with Project Managers for review and approval.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to track revenue, costs, and project risks
  • Support monthly revenue recognition and billing processes to ensure accurate and timely invoicing
  • Monitor accounts receivable and escalate payment issues as needed
  • Process project initiation requests and establish new projects within Oracle EBS
  • Actively participate in project meetings including monthly reviews and close-outs
  • Support budgeting and audit activities with detailed financial analysis and reporting
  • Handle timesheet administration and expense reviews
  • Uphold HDR’s values and commitment to workplace safety
  • Support the Regional Accounting Director and Singapore Leadership as required.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or related discipline.
  • Previous experience working in the Engineering or Construction industry – highly advantageous.
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including strong skills within Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive, motivated and dedicated.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a solutions-focused attitude.
  • Singaporean or PR.

Skills & Experience

  • Previously experience of working with accounting systems and ERP, ideally EBS and Oracle.
  • Competency in MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Experience in dealing with projects in different currencies.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of processes and ability to work within a framework to make things happen.
  • Proven experience of working in a finance role, ideally with project accounting experience
  • Structured and organised in their approach and able to manage projects.
  • Must be a team player, willing to step into the wider team roles when required.
  • A good communicator and collaborate effectively with a broad range of non -financial staff.
  • Able to work comfortably in an agile environment with the ability to make rapid decisions in a fast-moving company.
