Position Overview

We are seeking a Senio Network Support Engineer to provide expert-level network infrastructure and technical support for Azure Core Networking within Government Cloud environments. This role serves as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, advanced troubleshooting, network architecture, automation, and operational improvements across secure federal environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior escalation point for critical network incidents, customer issues, and deployment problems.
• Lead resolution of high-priority incidents affecting federal cloud network operations.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and remediation.
• Design and implement solutions for complex networking environments.
• Provide technical guidance on ExpressRoute Direct architecture, capacity planning, and optimization.
• Support optical SPAN monitoring and network performance improvement initiatives.
• Architect end-to-end deployment solutions for Microsoft ExpressRoute devices.
• Develop and optimize network automation workflows.
• Design, validate, and implement complex production network configurations.
• Evaluate and integrate services from Microsoft network partners.
• Support network infrastructure modernization initiatives.
• Develop troubleshooting procedures, knowledge-base articles, and operational readiness frameworks.
• Lead post-incident reviews and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior and intermediate network engineers.
• Contribute to network capacity planning and infrastructure scaling.
• Participate in technical architecture reviews and governance activities.
• Manage LOAs and technical coordination with infrastructure partners.
• Support network infrastructure decommissioning activities.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in network operations, network engineering, or technical infrastructure support.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, routing, and switching.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure networking services, including:Azure ExpressRouteExpressRoute DirectVPN GatewayAzure Virtual WAN
• Experience with network monitoring, SPAN, packet capture, and traffic analysis.
• Experience with ticketing and incident management systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise or cloud networking environments.
• Knowledge of PowerShell and/or Python is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a 24x7 operational environment.
• Strong documentation and attention to detail.

• Microsoft Azure AZ-900

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Must be able to successfully complete a CJIS background check.
• Ability to work within secure and restricted federal cloud environments.

• 24x7 operational support environment.
• Shift-based working schedule.
• Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
