Perform the day-to-day execution and coordination of the organisation’s environmental management activities, ensuring the environmental policies and programmes are applied consistently across the Group in line with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
Maintain accurate environmental performance data, preparing reports, coordinating initiatives, and liaising with various internal teams at a working level.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Assess and update the Group’s environmental compliance status by obtaining data and information from MISC entities. Highlight any gaps or non-compliance and follow up with MISC entities to close the gaps, ensuring organisation’s full compliance.
Research, benchmark and gather data on environmental best practices and regulatory requirements to inform the development and updating of environmental strategies, performance indicators, targets and plans.
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Environmental Management System (EMS). This includes updating documentation, procedure, checklist and record to reflect current regulations, standards and organisational requirements. Support EMS audits and management review by compiling required evidence and preparing necessary materials.
Monitor and track evolving environmental related regulations, standards and best practices. Conduct preliminary impact assessment and provide analytical support to inform policy updates and strategic guidance on environmental risks and compliance implications.
Assist in identifying, developing and implementing environmental initiatives and programmes across the Group. Coordinate logistics, monitor progress against milestones and provide feedback and data to ensure initiative’s objectives, timelines and metrics are clearly communicated and implemented effectively.
Assist the Manager in managing budget and procurement processes for environmental related initiatives and programme, including tracking expenditures, preparing documentation and coordinating with vendors for to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
Collect, consolidate and analyse environmental performance data from various internal and external sources. This includes data gathering from MISC entities as well as external benchmark or industry data and perform detailed analysis to identify trends, anomalies and root causes behind performance changes.
Prepare comprehensive environmental performance reports by specified frequency for internal and external disclosure, including progress against targets and key indicators to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
Serve as a focal point for environmental data management system and digital tools. Coordinate with ICT and other stakeholders to establish and maintain centralised environmental data repositories, reporting tools, and monitoring systems to ensure it is up to date, accessible and systematically organized.
Coordinate and support MISC Entities in implementing their strategies, plans and programme by gathering data, facilitating communication and implementation activities ensuring alignment with legal, policy and operational requirements.
Support the development and execution of environmental training and awareness programmes. Assist in preparing training materials or sourcing external training providers, help coordinate training sessions and creating internal communications that promote environmental awareness and specific campaigns.
Participate in internal HSSE and Sustainability forums and committees as a representative of the Environment function, providing updates on environmental performance and initiatives, and share best practices from these forum and committees are back to the Environment team for implementation and improvement.
Support engagement activities with external stakeholders by coordinating logistics, preparing materials and maintaining communication record to foster positive relationship with government agencies, community representative and relevant organisations.
EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENT:
At least 7 – 10 years of related working experience in HSE field with substantial knowledge on environmental programmes.
Experienced in GHG accounting and management is advantageous.
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, HSE or equivalent
