Job Description

Responsibilities

Platform Infrastructure Engineer (AWS Platform & DevSecOps)

What you'll do

  • Design, implement and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure across new and existing environments (modernisation, migration, optimisation)
  • Build Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform / CloudFormation, plus reusable modules and automation
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab; onboard workloads onto SHIP / HATS DevSecOps platforms
  • Implement observability — dashboards, monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting for proactive service management
  • Apply cloud security, governance and compliance controls; support Windows Server and RHEL administration on AWS
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation in Confluence; coordinate Infra FM vendors
  • Provide technical advisory to stakeholders and uplift team engineering capability through coaching and best practices

Essential requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years in cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevOps or infrastructure roles
  • Strong hands-on AWS design, implementation and operations
  • Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
  • CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar) and GitLab repo/branching practices
  • Experience with SHIP / HATS or similar enterprise DevSecOps platforms
  • Strong AWS networking, IAM, security, monitoring and operational resilience
  • Familiarity with governance, risk and compliance in regulated/Government environments
  • Able to work independently as a self-starter; strong communication and stakeholder management

Nice to have

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps Administrator)
  • Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) or equivalent regulated cloud experience
  • Containers (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS)
  • Observability tools (Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch)
  • Site reliability engineering background; ITIL / service management familiarity

Pay: $7,000.00 - $9,500.00 per month
