Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Electrical Engineer role based in Greater Kuala Lumpur, with a mix of in-office and work-from-home flexibility. The Electrical Engineer will design and develop electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems, in coordination with architectural and structural teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing drawings and specifications, performing load calculations, reviewing codes and standards, and supporting the integration of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. The role involves collaborating with project managers and other disciplines, attending coordination meetings, addressing site queries, and supporting construction administration through shop drawing reviews and inspections. The Electrical Engineer will also help ensure that designs meet safety, regulatory, and client performance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, including understanding of electricity principles and applied engineering practices.
  • Proficiency in Electrical Design for building projects, including layout planning and system integration.
  • Experience with Power Distribution and Power Systems, including load analysis and system protection.
  • Ability to use relevant design and modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and familiarity with local codes and international standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline; professional registration or progress toward it is an advantage.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple project tasks.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and commitment to safety, reliability, and sustainable design.
  • Previous experience in building services or consulting engineering is preferred.
