Job Overview

We are seeking a Geopolitical Analyst to support our investment research team with analysis of global economic, political, and market developments. The role focuses on monitoring international events, identifying emerging themes, and assessing how regional and global developments may affect markets, industries, and investment portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor global economic, political, regulatory, and market developments across key regions.
• Conduct research on geopolitical events, policy changes, trade developments, and regional trends.
• Assess potential implications of international developments for financial markets and investment themes.
• Prepare concise research notes, briefings, and regular market updates for internal stakeholders.
• Track key macroeconomic and geopolitical indicators and maintain relevant research databases.
• Analyse information from public sources, research publications, economic data, and industry reports.
• Identify emerging geopolitical themes and developments that may require further investment research.
• Work with investment and research teams to incorporate macro and geopolitical perspectives into broader market analysis.
• Support thematic research projects covering countries, regions, industries, and global trends.
• Present research findings clearly and objectively to investment and management teams.
• Maintain organised records of research materials, sources, assumptions, and analytical findings.

Requirements

• Degree in Economics, International Relations, Political Science, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Experience in geopolitical research, macroeconomic research, investment research, market intelligence, or a related analytical role is preferred.
• Strong interest in global markets, international affairs, and macroeconomic developments.
• Strong research, analytical, and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyse information from multiple sources and identify relevant themes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with time-sensitive information.
• Comfortable preparing concise reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and research or data-analysis tools.
• Knowledge of financial markets or investment research is an advantage.
