MEP Project Manager (Data Centre Construction) - PMC - Johor Bahru
Key Responsibilities
1. Inter-Disciplinary MEP Integration
- System Convergence: Oversee the seamless interface between heavy electrical loads (multi-megawatt UPS arrays, backup generators, MV switchgear) and heavy mechanical thermal systems (chilled water plants, CRAH units, liquid-to-chip CDUs).
- BIM Spatial & Clash Management: Lead 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination reviews to proactively resolve spatial conflicts between large chilled-water pipes, electrical busduct tracks, and ELV cable containments.
- Plumbing & Critical Drainage: Manage specialized technical plumbing infrastructure, including fuel oil piping loops for backup generators, condensation drainage arrays for data halls, and emergency domestic water storage backstops.
2. Long-Lead Procurement & Schedule Alignment
- Critical Path Mitigation: Manage production, factory inspections, logistics, and site delivery dates for multi-million dollar long-lead machinery (e.g., chillers, cooling towers, continuous-duty generators, modular UPS blocks).
- Work Package Master Scheduling: Construct and maintain detailed, integrated MEP construction programs using MS Project or Primavera P6, adapting to compressed fast-track hyperscale schedules.
3. 5-Level Commissioning Leadership
- FAT/SAT Accountability: Approve and witness Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) worldwide and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) on-site.
- Integrated Systems Testing (IST): Act as the ultimate technical authority steering Level 1 through Level 5 Commissioning. Direct the final "Black Building" load-bank simulations to prove that power failovers and thermal stability function automatically without losing any simulated IT server loads.
4. Statutory Approvals & Safety Enforcement
- Utility & Authority Interface: Lead negotiations and coordinate compliance handovers with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) for EHV/HV grid hookups, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), BOMBA (for fire systems integration), DOSH (for pressure vessels), and SPAN.
- High-Risk Safety Protocols: Enforce rigorous Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO) frameworks and High Voltage testing permits-to-work across all MEP subcontractors in alignment with CIDB guidelines.
