Responsibilities
Location: Singapore
Supervisory-Level Position
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Heavy Haulage & Loose Cargo Controller to supervise daily transport operations involving machinery, oversized cargo, construction materials and other loose cargoes.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate and control daily heavy-haulage and loose-cargo jobs
* Assign suitable prime movers, trailers, cranes, equipment and drivers
* Conduct route, site-access and operational assessments
* Coordinate loading, unloading, lashing, lifting and delivery arrangements
* Brief drivers and ground teams on job requirements and safety controls
* Monitor job progress and respond quickly to delays or operational problems
* Coordinate with customers, warehouse teams, subcontractors and site personnel
* Check permits, vehicle suitability, cargo dimensions and weight restrictions
* Control driver overtime, subcontractor usage and unnecessary operating costs
* Ensure job documents, delivery orders, photographs and proof of delivery are completed
* Support quotations by providing accurate manpower, equipment and operating requirements
* Investigate service failures, damage, delays and customer complaints
* Supervise controllers and operations staff where required
Requirements
* Relevant experience in heavy haulage, loose cargo, project logistics or heavy-vehicle transport
* Strong knowledge of prime movers, low-bed trailers, flatbed trailers and cargo-securing requirements
* Familiar with Singapore roads, ports, industrial estates and customer-site operations
* Experience handling oversized, overweight or high-value cargo is an advantage
* Able to lead drivers and ground crews firmly and professionally
* Strong planning, communication and problem-solving abilities
* Prepared to respond to urgent operations outside normal working hours
* Class 3 driving licence is preferred
* Basic computer skills and experience using transport-management systems are advantageous
