1. Drawing Analysis & Quantity Take-Offs

Measure and extract material quantities directly from client design drawings, cross-sections, and topographical maps (focusing on cut/fill volumes, soil compaction, and topsoil removal).

Utilize digital measurement and estimation software to review complex engineering drawings and blueprints.

Identify and resolve any design discrepancies, ambiguities, or omissions in drawings by generating Requests for Information (RFIs) to clients or consultants.

2. Quotation, Tendering & Bidding

Prepare detailed initial quotes, commercial proposals, and full tender packages for earthworks projects.

Develop comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQ) when not provided by the client.

Factor in highly variable earthworks dynamics into quotes, including soil classification, heavy machinery/plant utilization, haulage distances, and tipping/disposal fees.

Source, evaluate, and negotiate competitive market rates from subcontractors and material suppliers.

3. Post-Contract & Commercial Administration

Assess site conditions against tender assumptions to proactively manage commercial risks.

Measure and calculate on-site progress to prepare regular progress claims, interim valuations, and final accounts.

Manage Variation Orders (VOs) resulting from unexpected ground conditions or design changes, ensuring they are accurately priced and submitted on time.

4.Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a heavy emphasis on civil engineering or specialized earthworks/excavation projects.

Quotation Expertise: Demonstrable track record of successfully preparing winning quotes and estimating direct/indirect project costs.

Pay: $3,000.00 - $3,500.00 per month
