  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, or commercial kitchen.
  • Experience in Western and/or Asian cuisine is preferred.
  • Experience with fusion or café-style menus will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, portion control, and kitchen hygiene.
  • Able to work efficiently in a Kids-Cafe and handle peak-hour operations.
  • Team player with good communication and a positive working attitude.
  • Responsible, disciplined, and attentive to detail.
  • Able to work on weekends and public holidays when required.
  • Food safety / food handling certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Demi Chef – Kids Café (Western–Asian Fusion)

Location: Center Point, Bandar Utama
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are looking for a Demi Chef to join our kitchen team at a family-friendly kids café serving a Western–Asian fusion menu. The ideal candidate is hands-on, passionate about food, and able to maintain consistent quality while working efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chef in the daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
  • Handle a variety of Western and Asian fusion dishes, including pasta, rice dishes, grilled items, snacks, sauces, and other café-style meals.
  • Ensure food is prepared consistently in terms of taste, quality, portion, and presentation.
  • Assist with mise en place, including cutting, marinating, portioning, and preparation of ingredients.
  • Monitor ingredient freshness, stock levels, and minimise food wastage.
  • Assist with receiving and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, food safety, and sanitation.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and workstations are properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Support the kitchen team during peak hours and ensure food orders are prepared within the required service time.
  • Assist the Head Chef with menu preparation, recipe improvement, and new dish development when required.
  • Follow all company SOPs, food safety requirements, and workplace guidelines.
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
