About the role

We are seeking a Senior Executive Financial Planning & Analysis to join our Finance team in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a strategic role in driving financial performance and informing key business decisions. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive financial forecasts, conducting in-depth variance analysis, and providing actionable insights to support executive decision-making. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between financial data and strategic business objectives, ensuring the organisation operates with financial discipline and achieves its growth targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed financial forecasts and budgets across all business units, incorporating market trends and operational assumptions

• Perform variance analysis between actual results and budgeted/forecast figures, identifying trends and root causes of significant deviations

• Prepare comprehensive financial reports and dashboards for senior management and board presentations

• Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making and capital allocation

• Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators, providing regular updates to stakeholders

• Collaborate with operational departments to understand business drivers and refine forecast models

• Support financial modelling for new business initiatives, investments, and cost improvement projects

• Maintain and enhance financial planning tools, systems, and databases to improve efficiency and accuracy

• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and recommendations to support business leadership

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial controls and governance frameworks

What we're looking for

• Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline

• Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly desirable

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting

• Strong proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, and data visualisation

• Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and financial management software

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments

• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

• Knowledge of the explosives, mining, or quarrying industry would be an advantage
