Key Responsibilities:

Site Supervision

• Monitor and inspect daily architectural construction activities.
• Ensure works are carried out according to approved architectural drawings, specifications, method statements and contract requirements.
• Monitor workmanship for architectural works including brickwork, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, ceiling, doors, windows, roofing, façade and finishes.

Quality Control

• Inspect materials delivered to site against approved material submissions, samples and specifications.
• Identify defective, non-conforming or poor-quality workmanship.
• Issue or assist in preparing site instructions, inspection reports and NCRs where necessary.
• Monitor and verify rectification of defects.

Drawing & Technical Inspection

• Read and interpret architectural drawings, details and specifications.
• Check dimensions, alignment, levels, finishes and installation details.
• Verify construction works against approved shop drawings and coordinated drawings.

Progress Monitoring

• Monitor architectural works against the approved construction programme.
• Verify completed works and assist in assessing contractor progress claims.
• Identify delays, outstanding works and potential construction issues.

Coordination

• Liaise with the Architect, Resident Architect, contractor, subcontractors, consultants and other IOWs.
• Attend site meetings and technical coordination meetings.
• Highlight architectural issues and propose appropriate corrective actions.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily site reports, inspection records, photographic records and progress reports.
• Maintain proper records of inspection requests, approvals, site instructions, NCRs and defects.
• Assist with preparation of as-built documentation and project handover records.

Defect & Handover

• Monitor outstanding works and defects.
• Inspect completed rectification works.
• Assist the Architect/project team during final inspection, testing and handover.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Building Science, Building Technology or related field.
• Registered Inspector of Works (IOW) with LAM is preferred/required depending on the project and appointment. LAM's published requirements specifically recognize relevant architectural/building qualifications and practical experience for Architectural IOW registration.
• 3–5 years relevant site supervision experience for a normal IOW position.
• 5–8 years for a more experienced/senior IOW.
• Good knowledge of: Architectural construction methods, Building materials and finishes, Construction drawings and specifications, QA/QC procedures, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word & Excel & Good communication and report-writing skills.

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
