Job Summary:

1. Position Overview

· We are seeking a Junior Automation Engineer to join our Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation team.

· The successful candidate will work alongside Test Engineers, Automation Engineers, Business Analysts and Technical Leads to develop, execute and maintain automated tests for web applications, APIs and enterprise systems.

· This position is suitable for a fresh graduate or junior engineer with a good foundation in programming who is interested in developing a career in software testing, test automation and quality engineering.

· Training and guidance will be provided on our automation frameworks, testing methodology and project delivery processes.

2. Key Responsibilities

· The Junior Automation Engineer will:

· Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web and API applications.

· Execute automated functional, regression and integration tests.

· Assist in converting manual test cases into automated test scripts.

· Maintain reusable automation components, test data and automation libraries.

· Analyse automated test execution results and identify potential application defects.

· Work with Test Engineers and Business Analysts to understand system requirements and acceptance criteria.

· Participate in requirement and test case reviews to identify suitable automation candidates.

· Perform API testing and automation using appropriate tools and frameworks.

· Assist with integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

· Maintain test scripts using source-control repositories such as Git.

· Investigate automation failures and distinguish between application defects, test-data issues, environmental issues and automation-script failures.

· Prepare automation execution reports and maintain appropriate testing evidence.

· Record and manage defects using the organisation's defect-management tools.

· Support continuous improvement of the organisation's test automation framework and practices.

· Explore the use of AI-assisted development and testing tools to improve automation productivity and test coverage.

· Comply with applicable organisational quality procedures, security requirements and software testing standards.
