Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial and operational aspects of precast component manufacturing projects. Based in Singapore, the successful candidate will be responsible for pre-tender and post-tender quantity surveying activities, including reviewing tender drawings, preparing quantity take-offs for reinforced concrete works, evaluating project requirements, and coordinating with the Malaysia factory team to ensure accurate production planning and order fulfilment.

The role involves close collaboration with the Singapore office, Malaysia production teams, and other internal departments to ensure accurate quantity measurements, proper cost evaluation, and effective coordination throughout the tender and production stages.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Tender Activities

• Review tender drawings, specifications, schedules, and other relevant documentation.
• Carry out detailed quantity take-offs for reinforced concrete works, including concrete volume, reinforcement, and related precast components.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), quantity schedules, and material estimates for tender submissions.
• Analyse project drawings and specifications to identify precast component requirements and potential commercial considerations.
• Coordinate with the Singapore office and Malaysia factory team to assess production requirements, technical feasibility, and cost implications.
• Assist in preparing tender pricing, quotations, and supporting commercial documentation.
• Identify discrepancies, omissions, and variations in tender documents and seek clarification where necessary.

Post-Tender and Production Coordination

• Review awarded project drawings, orders, specifications, and work instructions.
• Verify quantities, dimensions, and specifications against approved drawings and order requirements.
• Coordinate closely with the Malaysia factory team to ensure production requirements are clearly communicated and understood.
• Monitor drawing revisions, order changes, additional quantities, and remakes.
• Liaise with Planning, Production, Procurement, and Logistics teams in Malaysia to support smooth order fulfilment.
• Prepare and maintain accurate quantity schedules, order records, and project documentation.
• Follow up on outstanding drawings, technical information, materials, and production requirements.
• Provide regular updates to the Singapore office on production progress, outstanding information, and issues affecting orders.
• Assist with quantity verification, variation assessments, and other post-tender commercial matters as required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, particularly in reinforced concrete works and precast component manufacturing.
• Strong experience in quantity take-offs for reinforced concrete works, including concrete volume, reinforcement bars, and related construction elements.
• Experience in both pre-tender and post-tender quantity surveying activities, including tender measurement, BQ preparation, cost evaluation, and quantity verification.
• Able to read and interpret structural, reinforcement, and construction drawings.
• Good understanding of reinforced concrete construction methods, measurements, quantities, and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail with good numerical and analytical skills.
• Good communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
• Responsible, organised, and able to work independently while coordinating effectively with teams across Singapore and Malaysia.
• Willing to work closely with the Malaysia factory team and coordinate on production and order-related matters.
