Role Description The BMC Engineer is a contract, on-site role based in Bangsar South, Selangor. This role focuses on administering, configuring, and maintaining BMC platforms and related monitoring tools to ensure reliable IT operations across Scicom’s private cloud and omni-channel environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and optimizing system monitoring, managing incident and problem workflows, creating and maintaining dashboards and reports, and collaborating with infrastructure, application, and service delivery teams on performance and availability improvements. The BMC Engineer will also participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and change management activities, and support automation initiatives to streamline IT processes and enhance service levels.

Qualifications

• Strong BMC product expertise (e.g., BMC Helix, Remedy, TrueSight, or similar), including installation, configuration, and ongoing administration.
• Experience with IT monitoring, event management, and performance tuning across servers, applications, and networks.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL practices, especially incident, problem, change, and configuration management.
• Proficiency in scripting or automation tools (such as PowerShell, Shell scripting, or Python) for workflow automation and integration.
• Ability to design and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports for operational and management stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a structured approach to diagnosing and resolving system issues.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional technical and business teams.
• Experience in large-scale, multi-tenant, or cloud-based environments is an advantage.
• Relevant technical certification (e.g., BMC certifications, ITIL Foundation) is beneficial.
• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
