We are looking for a driven and experienced Quality Manager to lead the Quality function in Singapore and provide strong leadership to our QA/QC team. In this role, you will have a key influence in building a strong quality culture, strengthening quality standards and systems, and driving continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations. You will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure quality requirements are understood, consistently achieved, and continuously improved. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Quality team, providing clear direction, coaching and support to build a high-performing and accountable Quality organisation.
- Drive a strong quality culture across the organisation by promoting quality ownership, discipline, continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving.
- Establish, maintain and continuously improve quality standards, procedures, controls and the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Develop and implement effective quality control systems, inspection methods and processes to ensure products consistently meet customer, regulatory and company requirements.
- Oversee inspection, testing and evaluation activities to ensure the precision, accuracy and reliability of products throughout the manufacturing process.
- Take end-to-end ownership of customer change management and qualification activities related to the expansion and development of Singapore operations.
- Lead customer quality engagement, including managing customer audits, responding to quality concerns and driving timely resolution of customer issues.
- Approve product acceptance testing, quality plans and other technical quality-related matters.
- Review and approve quality and project documentation to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and company requirements.
- Lead internal audits of products, processes and procedures, and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using quality methodologies such as 8D, FMEA and SPC.
- Analyse quality data and trends to identify risks, recurring issues and opportunities for improvement, and translate findings into effective improvement actions.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and other functions to prevent quality issues, improve processes and strengthen overall operational performance.
- Ensure production and quality issues are addressed promptly, systematically and effectively, with appropriate escalation where required.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through clear, confident and effective communication.
- Select, develop and evaluate Quality personnel to ensure the team has the capability, ownership and resources required to support business and customer needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10 years of Quality and/or Engineering experience in a manufacturing & industrial environment, with at least 5 years in a people management role.
- Proven experience leading and developing QA/QC teams, with the ability to motivate people, set clear expectations and build a culture of accountability and quality ownership.
- Strong foundation in Quality Management Systems, quality controls, audit processes and corrective and preventive action methodologies.
- Experience interfacing with customers, managing customer audits and resolving complex quality-related issues.
- Proficient in quality tools and methodologies, including 8D problem solving, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Experience with metrology and inspection techniques, with the ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings.
- Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic, data-driven and results-oriented approach.
- Driven, proactive and hands-on, with a strong sense of ownership and urgency in addressing quality issues.
- Experience with SAP quality management operations is preferred.
