About the Role
We are looking for an experienced SQL & Java Developer to design, develop, maintain and enhance business applications. The role will involve hands-on Java and SQL development, application integration, production support, troubleshooting, system enhancements and collaboration with business and IT teams.
The candidate will work across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and will be involved in translating business requirements into technical solutions, application integration, testing, deployment and production support.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, enhance and maintain Java-based applications.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures and database scripts.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
- Integrate applications using Java, SQL, Web Services, APIs and Windows Batch Scripts.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, System Analysts, Solution Architects and business users to understand requirements and assess technical feasibility.
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications, solution designs and impact assessments.
- Perform unit testing and system integration testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Provide 2nd-level production/application support, incident resolution and application maintenance.
- Monitor and support batch jobs, including end-of-day and month-end activities where required.
- Participate in application deployment, configuration and environment management.
- Review application design and ensure adherence to development best practices, security and regulatory requirements.
- Support IT Risk findings, infrastructure activities and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Prepare technical/support documentation and provide user training for new implementations.
- Participate in application projects, product launches and digital transformation initiatives.
- Work with internal teams and external technology vendors throughout the SDLC.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of application architecture, performance and user experience.
