Systematica Investments Hiring! Full Time Trading Platform Support Engineer in - Ricebowl

The role is within the Production Systems Group (PSG) in Singapore, part of the Technology Operations (TechOps) team. The TechOps function ensures the smooth operation of our IT Infrastructure, software and change process on a 24-hour basis. The function encompasses the following teams:

• Production Systems Group (PSG)
• Quality Assurance (QA)
• DevOps
• Infrastructure management
• Cyber security

PSG are the first line technical support team for the Systematica trading and middle office IT platform, supporting a 24x6 global trading business. The team operates from Geneva, London, Singapore and New York.

The team is focusing on the continual delivery of the day-to-day operations of the automated trading platform. Team members need to collaborate well which often requires flexible problem solving and a commitment to understanding technically complex issues. No day is ever the same in PSG! This is an opportunity for an engineer with a demonstrated commitment to support and technical operations to join the Singapore team.

Primary Duties

• Preparation, support and monitoring of our proprietary trading platform throughout the trading day.
• Troubleshooting time sensitive production incidents affecting BAU with priority to trading.
• Provide key updates on release changes and latest incidents to the trading team.
• Collaboration with colleagues in Europe and America to facilitate a follow the sun system support. At the end of the Asian day handover ongoing issues or release work to the European team.
• Work with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, developers and Operations to reduce the production risk and remedy ongoing issues.
• Work with third party data vendors or executing/prime brokers to manage updates to respective parts of the system.
• User acceptance testing and release planning of changes for production.
• Document procedures and troubleshooting scenarios to aid future incidents.
• Scripting and automation of routine tasks.

General

• Comfortable working in both Windows and Linux environment.
• Proficient in scripting languages Shell, Python.
• Experience with configuration management tools, Ansible.
• Solid understanding of MS SQL Server and proficient in T-SQL.
• Experience with source control systems, Git, svn.
• Experience of Build / CI tools, TeamCity.
• Hands on experience in production deployment and release management.
• Minimum 5 years work experience in trading technology or similarly complex environment

Education, Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Comfortable working in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Proficient in scripting languages Shell, Python.
• Experience with configuration management tools, Ansible.
• Solid understanding of MS SQL Server and proficient in T-SQL.
• Experience with source control systems, Git, svn.
• Experience of Build / CI tools, TeamCity.
• Knowledge of Docker, Nomad, Kubernetes is a plus.
• Hands on experience in production deployment and release management.
• Minimum 8 years work experience in trading technology or similarly complex environment.
