Responsibilities

Job Summary

Join Toshiba Tec Singapore as a Purchasing Buyer to manage the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of parts for production while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to support manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and expedite parts for mass production to maintain uninterrupted supply and meet delivery deadlines
  • Collaborate with suppliers to secure timely delivery of parts, ensuring production continuity
  • Order and manage prototype and pre-production parts to support engineering development activities
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement actions to reduce material shortages and delays
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize procurement costs and timelines
  • Coordinate part changes, including engineering updates, by liaising with internal teams to ensure smooth transitions
  • Manage End-of-Life (EOL) parts through effective planning to minimize production impact
  • Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies, documentation standards, and audit requirements for compliance
  • Prepare and present regular reports on inventory status, delivery performance, and procurement metrics to stakeholders

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or preferably Engineering (Electrical, Electronic & Mechanical)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced multinational manufacturing environment (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • Familiarity with global suppliers and overseas parts management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel and data analysis
  • Understanding of MRP systems and experience using Oracle procurement software
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively manage supplier relationships
  • Ability to manage stress, work overtime, and adapt to frequent schedule changes
