Responsibilities
Our client, a well-established fertilizer manufacturing company, is looking for an experienced and commercially minded Assistant Human Resources Manager to join their HR & Administration team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who is ready to move beyond day-to-day HR operations and take on a broader, more strategic HR leadership role, with potential progression into an HR Manager position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
• Lead and oversee daily HR & Administration operations and supervise HR/Admin team members
• Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, talent management and retention initiatives
• Develop and implement employee engagement and company culture initiatives
• Review and improve HR policies, procedures and practices in line with business needs and regulatory requirements
• Handle employee relations, grievances, disciplinary matters and provide HR guidance to managers and employees
• Support manpower planning and workforce development initiatives
• Oversee payroll, attendance, HRIS and foreign worker / expatriate recruitment and permit processes
• Provide HR and administrative support to regional operations across Malaysia and Indonesia
• Oversee office administration, facilities, utilities and general administrative matters
• Support HR compliance, audits and continuous improvement initiatives
• Work closely with management to identify HR challenges and recommend practical, business-focused solutions
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
• 8–12 years of HR generalist experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory / leadership role
• Strong experience in manufacturing HR is highly preferred
• Solid knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and HR practices
• Exposure to foreign worker / expatriate management and immigration processes
• Experience with payroll systems, attendance monitoring and HRIS
• Strong employee relations, recruitment and HR operations experience
• Regional exposure covering Malaysia and Indonesia is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia / Indonesia
• Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage
