Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Automation Engineer role based in Jasin. The Automation Engineer will design, implement, and optimize automation solutions for semiconductor equipment and factory systems, including AMHS and related peripherals. Daily responsibilities include programming and configuring control systems, monitoring process performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and throughput. The role involves diagnosing and resolving equipment and system issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and preparing technical documentation and reports. The Automation Engineer will also support commissioning, preventive maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Automation and Process Control to design, configure, and optimize automated systems in a semiconductor environment.
  • Candidates should possess solid Electrical Engineering and Robotics skills to integrate hardware, control systems, and robotic components safely and effectively.
  • Candidates should possess proven Troubleshooting skills to diagnose, analyze, and resolve equipment, software, and process-related issues promptly.
  • Candidates should possess good communication and teamwork skills to work with engineering, production, and maintenance teams across the facility.
  • Relevant diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, or related engineering field is preferred.
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, industrial automation, or factory automation systems (e.g., AMHS) is an advantage.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, use diagnostic tools, and prepare clear technical documentation is beneficial.
  • Willingness to work on-site, support shift or on-call requirements when needed, and adhere to all safety and quality procedures.
