Established in 1995, the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) is an independently managed, non-profit, non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to fostering a lasting culture of environmental ownership. As an approved Institution of a Public Character (IPC) , we serve as a primary catalyst for environmental advocacy and coordinate efforts across Singapore and the region.

We hold a unique position in the global sustainability landscape:

  • Global Recognition: We are the only recognised member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN) in Singapore, a non-profit association of leading eco-labelling organisations worldwide.

  • UN Accreditation: In 2018, the SEC was granted United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) accredited environmental NGO status, further amplifying our influence on sustainability issues.

  • National Impact: We work closely with government agencies, statutory boards, and industry partners to translate environmental policy into actionable solutions, such as the Resource Sustainability Act and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) frameworks.

At SEC, we don't just influence thinking; we drive systemic change. By joining our team, you will be at the heart of Singapore’s transition toward a circular economy and a more sustainable future
