  • The intern will support the Process Engineering team in developing, analyzing, and improving manufacturing processes related to wire crimping and/or other process required. The role is structured as an on-the-job training (OJT) program with strong emphasis on process planning, Six Sigma methodology, and data-driven problem solving.
  • Intern will perform in the following area
    • Assist in documenting end-to-end wire crimping process flows, including material handling, tooling, crimp application, and inspection steps.
    • Support process planning activities such as design of experiment (DOE), work instruction development, and standard operating procedure (SOP) updates.
    • Collect process data (e.g. crimp height, pull-out force, defect types) and perform basic statistical analysis under guidance.
    • Introduced to six sigma methodology following DMAIC methodology to identify variation sources and improvement opportunities in process
    • Assist engineers in evaluating crimping tools, applicators, and terminals, including understanding tooling setup and adjustment principles.
    • Test and validate joint quality as required to evaluate process capability
    • Support root cause analysis activities using tools such as Pareto charts, Fishbone diagrams, and 5-Why analysis.
    • Prepare summary reports, charts, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.


Job Requirements*

  • Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics & robotics, Manufacturing, or equivalent).
  • Interest in process improvement, Six Sigma, and hands-on manufacturing environments.
  • Able to work with data using basic tools such as Microsoft Excel (charts, formulas, statistical analysis)
  • Good documentation skills and attention to detail.
